I have read somewhere that macys and other large stores offer discounts to those from outside new york. Would that include ourselves';Travelling from Ireland';. If so.Would we need to bring a passport or something for I.D. Regards. Stephen
';Out of towner'; discounts!
It%26#39;s Macy%26#39;s and Bloomingdales - I just showed my driving license at Macy%26#39;s last week.
';Out of towner'; discounts!
go to the city web site a request a visitors guide. They send you maps and booklets for your trip. In the booklet they send you it has a pullout add that says take this add to macys for the out of town discount 10% and a free gift. I noticed while browsing thru this book that there are alot of freebees in it so it%26#39;s worth the hasle of requesting it.
Thanks but I go on Wed. Which Iam sure is too soon. Regards. Stephen
Which website is that
drron just posted that Lord %26amp; Taylor (another nice dept. store) offers a 15% discount which I never knew.

As ljg1006 states, just go to the visitors center in Macys or Bloomingdales and ask for your visitors discount card. It then means the price you pay is about the same as the sticker price, as that is always without tax.
Does anyone know though if either store sells Ipods and the discount applies to them?
Oh, meant to say, just have some official ID on you with your address. My photocard driving licence did the job. No point carrying your passport with you if you don%26#39;t have to.
Not sure about Bloomingdales but in Macy%26#39;s, if you go to the visitors centre and show your driving licence/passport you will get a discount card of 11% off all purchases!
It%26#39;s great! I love Macy%26#39;s!
The same is true in Bloomingdales and I said above, 15% in Lord %26amp; Taylor. Now that clothing and shoes has NO tax, these discounts are even better.
I don%26#39;t think Macy%26#39;s or Bloomies carry ipods. Go to one of the Apple stores or B %26amp; H Photo or J %26amp; R music world.
