Is it too early to book broadway shows for a december trip?

First o fall I would like to thanks everyone on here for helping me out with planning my first trip to NYC! I am now trying to plan out day to day activity and would like to watch at least one broadway show. What do you recommend? I will be there 12/20-12/23 and is it too early to book tickets? I tried broadwaybox.com but it seem like they are only selling tickets for october and november dates. Anyway, hope to hear from you soon. Thanks

Chloe

As for tickets--it depends on what play you%26#39;re trying to get them for and I would guess, what site you%26#39;re buying from. We got our Jersey Boys tickets 4 months in advance and the people sitting next to us got theirs 6 months in advance. We got them from a link on the Jersey Boys website. Go to www.playbill.com--it lists all the plays on and off Broadway. As for what play to see--it%26#39;s up to you. Playbill has synopses of each play so that will help you decide.

Definitely not too early. check ticketmaster.com

It%26#39;s certainly not too early to book your tickets but, for the time you are travelling, I don%26#39;t think there will be many discounts. If you have your mind set on a particular show, go for it now. Not always prudent to delay booking.

Which broadway show do you guys recommend? I have never been to one and so recommendations needed =) I tried looking for wicked but it seem like all the tickets are already sold out on ticketmaster.

Wicked and Jersey Boys are hot tickets. Do you like musicals or dramas?

I have to agree with the previous posts, especially for the popular shows like Jersey Boys and Wicked.

For my opinion, my recommendation woud be Jersey Boys. I loved the show. We didn%26#39;t get to see it in Broadway when we were in NYC last November, as it was hard to get tickets for. When the JB tour was out here in LA during the summer, I got my tickets 5 months in advance. It was an extremely popular show here in LA as well.

I love musical. How%26#39;s the lion king? it is showing in dallas this month. Was supposed to go but had to sell back my tickets due to some conflict =(

Going on my first NY trip in late Nov. Prefer musicals would like to know your recommendations.

I got tickets for The Color Purple, Wicked and The Little Mermaid a couple of weeks back - for December 24th onwards (also bought tix for Christmas Spectacular and The Nutcracker...).. I can%26#39;t wait! Still thinking about Jersey Boys..

Yes, Jersey Boys is well worth the money. However, if you wanted to get tickets for December, it would extremely expensive since you would have to get them from a site like StubHub. One musical I also liked was The Drowsy Chaperone.
