Paris Suites Hotel

I stayed here last week and want to spread the word that this place is awful. I read another travel site that described it as a %26#39;new, boutique hotel.%26#39; I%26#39;m not so sure how %26#39;new%26#39; it is, but if it is, it obviously purchased 2nd-hand furnishings and supplies. I was charged $50 extra for having to check in two hours earlier than posted check-in time, even though the room was ready. My non-smoking room had ashtrays in it and it smelled. All rooms are the same. The bathroom did not have a shower. There was a large whirlpool tub next to the bed. It had been painted red and the paint was chipped off in various places, showing rusted spots. There was no hair dryer, no shampoo, no closet. Two threadbare towels, one washcloth and worn bed linens. The two chairs in the room were stained. There is no elevator and I had to carry my two pieces of heavy luggage up two flights of stairs. There is no restaurant (I knew this when I booked the room, having been told there are places to eat nearby) but when I inquired at the desk where to eat, was told that there is nothing within walking distance. Fortunately, I only had to stay here one night. If I%26#39;d known my way around the area and had to stay longer, I would most certainly have gone somewhere else. Please don%26#39;t make the same mistake I did.

You%26#39;ll probably get more discussion (and more exposure of this) if you post this on the New York City forum, since it is more active.

Thank you for posting this review. Make sure you add it to the review section.

Is this the hotel near the Grand Central Parkway around 108th Street? If so, I alswyas thought it was a nursing home or an ';hourly hotel'; or something! Yikes!

I hope this does not deter you from returning!
