Concerned: Super Shuttle

IHello Everyone

I have read on this forum some disturbing posts regarding Super Shuttle transportation.

As a UK resident, we are not familiar with super shuttle, it just comes as part of our itinerary, my question is, if they are so terrible, why are they still in business? Are the NY tourist board or whoever is responsible not aware of their appalling reputation? If they are, what is being done to improve their reputation?

I say this, because we are booked with super shuttle, and we are worried regarding our transportation.

This is our 1st trip to your Country / City and it would be a real shame if our trip in Feb, was spoilt by transportation

Concerned: Super Shuttle

Why are they still in business? Because the flat rate cab fare is $45 to JFK from Manhattan, and $21 Super shuttle in comparison looks like a deal. Which it isn%26#39;t.

I reserved it today from 10.20a-10.50a. Called at 11.50a for a new ETA. Was told it was 10 minutes late due to Midtown traffic. Called at 11.30a. Was told the driver of bus 615 had skipped me and was on his way to laguardia. Was told to get a cab and a receipt and that I would get a refund. Refund will not cover tolls and tip of course.

Called again to have my $21 ticket refunded to my credit card and was told that they could not do so. Someone had to call me back in 3-5 days (if you%26#39;re going abroad, then screw you) and then they would think about it.

I pointed out that they knew already that I wasn%26#39;t on the shuttle and so why should it take 3-5 days to think about returning my money? I was told it was %26#39;company policy.%26#39;

This company is run by..less than intelligent people. You do not need this frustration. Especially if there%26#39; s more than one person, get a cab.

Or take the subway.

Concerned: Super Shuttle

Super shuttle does have a bit of a bad reputation on here. We have used them twice and they weren%26#39;t too bad. They do take longer than a cab to get to your destination as they drop off at other hotels on route. I looked at it as a free tour of NYC. It%26#39;s also a bit of a thrill ride as the drivers are a bit Khami Khazi at times. I would use them again but now our son is classed as an adult and we have to pay for him it%26#39;s as cheap to get a cab.

Don%26#39;t worry about it you will be fine.

In addition to thse points, Super Shuttle is a large company that performs quite well in other American cities. It used to be amazing in Los Angeles, but service there has gone downhill, too.

BTW, this is the more general New York State forum.

If you want more opinions, you might want to re-post on the New York City forum.
