My husband + brother in law will be driving through the Adirondacks and want to know if they are not wine drinkers, can they still enjoy the trip? Is there one main road connecting the lakes that is pretty to drive on? It would most be just for sight-seeing while on their road trip.
I guess I%26#39;m asking if it%26#39;s ';worth it'; to drive out of their way to see the lakes. It%26#39;s part of a short, 1 week road trip.
Any info is much appreciated...
Drive from Adirondacks through Finger Lakes %26amp; still enjoy? The Finger Lakes are not just about wine. They are stunningly beautiful. If you are lucky enough to go down to the Ithaca area on Cayga Lake there are all sorts of gorges with hiking trails that are beautiful. Watkins Glen has a particularly lovely gorge trail. Take the shuttle bus to the top and hike down. Skaneateles is a beautiful town on the top of Skaneateles Lake. Some nice restaurants and shops. There isn%26#39;t really one road that connects the lakes...the best way to see them is to just pick one or two and drive the length of the lake.
