Good inexpensive restaurants on the East Side of Manhattan

i am looking for good inexpensive restaurants - atmosphere not important in Manhattan, between 68th and 86th streets, between 2nd avenue and Madison. Takeout places are fine. We will be staying in a relatives apartment for a week, but the kitchen is too small for cooking.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Burger Heaven is fun and inexpensive......big menu, something for everyone.

If you%26#39;re willing to go a bit farther north, two of my favorite cheap restaurants are on the Upper East Side. (I%26#39;ve actually tried a good number of the places between 68th and 86th, but nothing compares.)

Ottomanelli New York Grill on 93rd and Lexington (not the cafe on York) serves delicious steaks for under $15, a bargain by any standard, but even more considering that the quality of the meat is up there with most places charging at least double the price. They also own a butcher shop, so they cut out the middle man:

El Paso Taqueria on 97th (between Park and Madison) is hands-down the best Mexican I%26#39;ve had in the city, including any number of Chowhound favorites I%26#39;ve tried in various boroughs. The food is really homey, and of everything I%26#39;ve tried (probably over half the menu), I%26#39;ve never had a bad meal. Be sure to order the sublime Sopes Toluca as an appetizer- I do that every time:

hit the diners... any of them. They are everywhere and serve everything from spaghetti to BLTs to French Toast, and at so reasonable prices. Also, they deliver. So scope out your %26#39;hood and enjoy. Personal favorites... Yorkville Diner on 79th between 2nd and 3rd and The Candy Shop (been around since 1925) on Lex at 83rd.
