We are staying at The Westin Central Park and will going to see Bon Jovi at the Pru Centre , just wondering the best way to get there? what station/line would we be best to get on and off at. Would it be worth going to new jersey and spending the day there before we go to the concert? Is there anything to do /places to eat and drink around that area? How late would the trains run after the concert? Any advise would be appreciated. Also any recommendation for places to visit, eat and drink in whilst in NY. We will be there for 5 days. Thanks
Westin Hotel to Pru Centre New Jersey
There is no Westin Central Park hotel. There is only a Westin hotel near Times Square.
This concert marks the opening of the Pru Center, so not having been there, all I can do is read with you the directions from the website. The arena is evidently within walking distance of Penn station in NEWARK, New Jersey and you would get there from Manhattan by using either a NJ transit train from Penn station or a PATH train (also from Penn Station NYC).

I would imagine they will have trains to accomodate attendees from the concert so I wouldn%26#39;t worry about that. Newark is not known as a great place to visit, so no, I wouldn%26#39;t suggest spending the day.
For recos on your stay in NYC, there are hundreds of previous threads if you do a text search. Also, at the very top of this section is the 2nd thread which says ';read this first...'; FAQ with lots of good info.

Just to clarify, there is a Penn Station in NYC (at 34 st %26amp; 7th ave. near Macy%26#39;s) and there%26#39;s also a Penn station in Newark, NJ which is where you want to go to get to the Pru Center.
hopstop.com is a website that gives you directions for NYC so you can figure out how to get to Penn station in NYC from your hotel if you have the address. Assuming it%26#39;s the only Westin in NYC, you can take a subway almost across the street at Port Authority bus terminal 1 stop heading downtown and get to NYC%26#39;s Penn station.
