Tracy J's meet up Last night / my mini trip report

Hello all

The meet up was great and I had a good time meeting some new faces and some friendly faces I met before. Thanks everyone who was able to attend and all the well wishes from those you could not. I will try to post pictures by Monday.

I did enjoy Tracy J';s because we had an area that was comfortable to sit and talk . We shared appetizers and had drinks. Our waitress was really fun. I think I enjoyed a few too many margarita%26#39;s Thanks ';evening%26#39; for ordering one for your self and reminding me of how much I enjoy them. Because when all my Trip Advisor friends left I was singing Madonna Karaoke (don%26#39;t tell).

The Hudson Hotel for me was excellent , rooms were small but clean and funky. I loved the feel of this hotel the neighborhood, close to the Mandarin Oriental hotel. Entering the Hudson hotel they make you feel like you are a movie star, and going up on their neon looking escalator, with music playing in their trendy bar.

The staff was nice , the lighting is quite dark but I read my reviews on Tripadvisor and I knew what to expect. I knew the rooms were small because of the video of it on TA. Getting a taxi was a snap.The room was fine with me and I would return, if traveling with a friend or solo.

I loved staying here because I would of NOT experienced a hotel like this with my kids , so it was a different atmosphere hotel, compared my usual choices for a large family. I believe that is why I really took everything in. I won it on priceline something I usually do not do.

I had a nice night. I landed up going to a bar on Queens blvd called, I know it was called Tropics, but I do not recall the spelling. They played Reggaeton music and top 40 and even old school. My friend Brenda%26#39;s cousin is a old school singer called Giggles she had a hit with this song way back called Love letter. They played it in the bar when we were there.

We did check out this place called Villa on 2nd ave between 39th %26amp; 40th in manhattan , but my friends brother said he wanted to go to Queens. By the time I got back to manhattan , I fell asleep in the car, and walked into my hotel to the bar hopping at 3am. I loved it! checked out the bar but I was exhausted and went to my room and fell to sleep right away.

OK Time for house work!

Thanks again for planning the get-together.

I enjoyed learning about drron and rojann%26#39;s travels around the world. Great stories! I also enjoyed seeing pix of Matte%26#39;s kids. Bettina, NYCgirl and I commiserated on ';the bad old days'; of rampant crime and drugs of the 1970s and 1980s, but I%26#39;m still not convinced that Disney was the best thing for Times Square (but, that%26#39;s just me.)

Those who stayed also got to see Lotuspath in his full pirate reglaia, complete with parrot-on-shoulder. Arrrrrrr!

Tmoo6%26#39;s friends were great sports about the whole thing. Thanks to your friend who took group pictures of us!

It was great weather that night, and I enjoyed walking up B%26#39;way through the Flatiron District to my train. Even though it was kinda empty, there were some partiers walking around, and the Flatiron Building is nearly scaffold-free! Looked great.

Hey everyone!!!

I too had a great, but short time with you all last night!! I was great to see and finally meet all the regulars. I really wished I didnt have to run so fast....really wanted to talk with you all more and could have spent hours there as you all seemed so interesting and fun!!

after I left, we picked up michael who was also about an hour late because of sitting on the tarmac of LGA waiting for an empty spot to deplane. This storm in Buffalo was only the third rain of the summer and the first one with thunder and lightning....of all days for it to happen!!! AAARRRGGG I wasted a full three 1/2 hours because of it and then another hour and a half navigating through the area around the UN because of the heavy security there.

We did have a blast with his cousin and seen some very happening night spots, The W Union Square my fav of the night. We were also able to get in a few places because of acquiantences of theirs. Nothing like being treated like a VIP and not having to wait behind the ropes!!! all in all, it was a fantastic night and we rolled in around 7am this morning.....YAWN........

well, time to leave for our much anticipated dinner at Amalia, before we head to Chelsea for yet another night on the town with a couple we met during our last visit here.....more fun and it looks like another late late night!

will write a condensed TR when I get home Monday night.

Again it was great to meet everyone and thanks to tammy for arranging this party!! I really enjoyed it........Ange, your next!!!!

I think I might have her post the pictures to make it easier. Would we be able to show the pictures as a trip report or do we have to use snap fish or something like that?

I was talking to the waitress and she said that Art sold Tracy J%26#39;s? I told her I only spoke to him like 3 days before we had the meet up. It was nice and they took care of us.I guess we will find out.
