I will be in New York over new year with my boyfriend (staying in Midtown close to 5th Avenue) and I%26#39;m looking for some suggestions for new year%26#39;s eve. Looking at previous posts it seems most people in the know advise against doing the obvious and going to Times Square. So instead I%26#39;m thinking a nice dinner (fish/seafood is a favourite) followed by drinks and a club (hip-hop %26amp; RnB preferrably).
Any recommendations along those lines ?
P.S. I know New Year is ages away but I%26#39;m very excited so I%26#39;m starting planning early !

We are there over new year too, we are thinking about maybe ditching the whole times square idea and going to a party... theres a few listed on www.joonbug.com for around $100 which isnt too bad!

Point taken. I%26#39;m of an age where NYE means a take-away curry and feet up in front of the fire watching telly. Much less than $100!
