Halloween Parade

CAn anyone tell me about the halloween parade in Greenwich Village? I%26#39;ve hear about it for years, Thinking if going this year. Is it a really crazy scene? Or just fun?

Halloween Parade

It%26#39;s just FUN!

I never know how to reply to these types of questions... what you and I consider crazy scenes are probably not the same! Were you in Fire Island in the 80s???

sorry - couldnt resist!

And, its hard to guess from one year to the next, from one block to the next or from one moment to the next.... The people screaming on the streets in my neighborhood until 3am could be considered crazy... or suburbanites having a rare night out? Last year I was surrounded by visitors from the US, and Australia and it was pretty tame.

The costumes are always breathtaking. Charge up the camera.

Either it is crowded, or very, very crowded. Be prepared to stand for hours, but you%26#39;ll love it!

Here%26#39;s the official site:

It%26#39;s insanely crowded! But lots of fun if you come in costume and join in. You%26#39;d have to start planning early, because store-bought costumes will not do -- people work all year on their spectacular creations.

Oops, I meant from 2005. It%26#39;s 37 minutes long. Some of the background chatter is pretty amusing!

Thanks for the info... I will check the sight for specifics, I have heard ';of'; the parade, meeting my college age son...(my idea). SO, kinda wanted to get a feel of just how crazy it really is.
