Can anyone tell me how far the gammercy tavern is from the Majestic theatre? can u walk from the restaurant to the theatre?
Grammercy Tavern to Phantom of the operaHow about this - give the addresses of each venue and maybe someone then will reply.
Another option - look up a map of NYC and check it out by that method.
And if you don%26#39;t fancy doing a bit of BASIC research the Gramercy T. is on E 20th b%26#39;twn Park Avenue S. and B%26#39;way and the Majestic Theater is on 44th btwn B%26#39;way and 8th Ave.
So, using my expert math skills, I%26#39;ve determined they are about 24 blocks from each other.
If you are having dinner before the show ask them to call you a cab.
This is easily researched info - I just did it and it took perhaps 2 minutes.Poppa
Grammercy Tavern to Phantom of the operaHopstop.com is another way to answer the question. It tells me it%26#39;s 1.32 miles and a 25 min. walk. I agree a taxi is a better idea, but I%26#39;d say GC is not in an ideal location for making a theater curtain. Crosstown traffic is usually bad and GT is on the east side and the theaters are west. I%26#39;d try to pick another night for GT if it%26#39;s possible and eat closer to the theater or at least on the west side.
Usually getting crosstown can be time-consuming. However, if you walk either down to Union Square, or up to 23rd %26amp; Broadway, you can get the Uptown N/R/W to the 49th St. Station. Stay at the back of the subway, and exit at 47th St., which lets you off right in front of the theater.
Make sure that in addition to having scheduled your reservation early enough to allow for dining and transport to the theater, you TELL the matire%26#39;d that you are going to the theater afterwards and you%26#39;d like to make sure that you arrive there on time.
As it is a rather good restaurant, they should take care to make sure your waiter keeps an eye on the clock and makes sure to settle your bill promptly if time is pressing.
Oops, wrong theater!
Get off the N/R/W at the same station, only walk down 3 blocks and walk over the one block to the Majestic.
You can also get off at Times Square, but I try to avoid that station pre-theater as it%26#39;s more crowded than the next station.
Anyway, print out a google map of the area, it%26#39;s easy to find your way through the crowds.
