Christmas in New York

Hi

Will be visiting New York over christmas! i always think that christmas in new york will be really sweet...

1. will there be stores that are open during christmas?

2. are there any activities on christmas eve and christmas day?

3. should i book my accomodation in adv? or will i be able to get last minute good deals?

Christmas in New York

Most stores will be opened late until Dec 23, close early on 24th and totally closed on 25th, then open early on 26th for the big sales.

The city will be quite empty on 25th, except Rockefeller Center and the skating rink. Many restaurants and cafes will stay closed but many movie theaters will open. Shops and restaurants will stay open in Chinatown and will be bustling as usual. I highly recommend you explore Central Park on Christmas Day.
