98 Bus to Cloisters?

We%26#39;re going to the Cloisters from midtown and wondered if it would be more interesting to ride the 98 bus one way...and the 4 bus on the other trip (possibly switching to/from the 5 for river views along Riverside Drive.

I%26#39;ve never been to these parts of NYC and two of our group have never been there at all, so we%26#39;d rather ';bus %26amp; sightsee'; than take the subway.

We will be traveling up about 9 a.m. and coming back at noon (in October).

Whatcha think?

98 Bus to Cloisters?

I think you won%26#39;t have very much time at the Cloisters if you follow that itinerary! We took the No. 5 from Columbus Circle to the Cloisters and stopped off at Grant%26#39;s Tomb and Riverside Church. The bus journey took about an hour so we took the subway back. If you%26#39;ve only got 3 hours, I would suggest you do something similar.

98 Bus to Cloisters?

Good point...I%26#39;ll schedule extra time.

If we take the subway back, which route do you suggest on the way there?

Thanks.

We took the #5 to Grant%26#39;s Tomb. After looking around there and Riverside Church, we walked about half a block to the #4 stop (Broadway and W122nd). The bus from there takes you right to The Cloisters.
