Yankees game

going to the yankee game sunday, staying on 43rd between 8th and broadway. Wanted to know where to catch the subway to head to the ballpark and was wondering how late that train at yankee stadium runs back to manhattan.

Yankees game

Get the ';D'; train at 42nd %26amp; 6th, at Bryant Park, directly to the stadium. just a couple of blocks from your hotel.

The subways run 24/7 so just do the same for the return, with thousands of your new friends!!!

LET';S GO YANKEES!!!!!

Have fun.

Yankees game

Hey NYCGirl ..... I wouldn%26#39;t want this to get around ...... I know how ..... SOME ..... Yankee fans love to gloat ..... and the guys at work would never let me live it down ..... but I think I might secretly watch the Yankees in the playoffs this year. But only in the total privacy of my home ..... with all the lights turned out ..... the blinds all down ..... in bed ..... underneath my covers ..... with a flashlight. But don%26#39;t anyone ask me about the games cause I%26#39;ll only deny the whole thing.

Sure they call it the World Series ..... but then why does it always have to be played in the Bronx ?

LP, you are too funny.

I truly do feel the pain of all Mets fans, and if the Yankees were not in it and the Mets were I would route for them, especially against that Boston team!!!!

nycgirl, thank you so much. Go Yankees! Also, you recommend any bars out there by the stadium for pre game and post?

Stop for a drink at Stan%26#39;s before the game, you can%26#39;t miss it.

I like the Yankee Tavern, on 161st and Gerard, a block east of Stan%26#39;s and the subway stop:

Stan%26#39;s tends to be a madhouse, but if you%26#39;re into general insanity, you might like it. It%26#39;s boisterous, at least.

I don%26#39;t know how to get there but I just wanted to say I%26#39;m jealous. Have a great time!!

This is normally correct. However, for this Sunday%26#39;s game it is not. As of right now (subject to change of course) the MTA still plans to make uptown D trains express in the Bronx this weekend (so they would skip 161st St).

You are better off walking a little bit further to Grand Central (42nd %26amp; Park) and taking an uptown 4 train which should be running normally.

After the game you can catch a downtown D train to 42nd/6th Bryant Park.

Here is the MTA%26#39;s D line service advisor page:

How bout those Yankees lotuspath?

The MTA is going to have to change this. Downtown 4 trains are skipping 161 this weekend too.

They are going to have a riot on their hands if they don%26#39;t reinstate normal service.

Somehow I doubt that the MTA will reinstate normal service for a Yankees Game. If both the 4 and D are down, people will just have to take the train farther uptown and switch to the downtown train, I guess.

It%26#39;s not fun, but it%26#39;s certainly happened before.
