Where to go for New Year's eve?

Hi, I am visiting NYC for the first time over New Year with my husband and a couple of friends. Can anyone recommend anywhere to eat for New Year%26#39;s Eve that will be reasonably priced and have a lively atmosphere and pretty central to Times Square for the countdown? Thanks very much for your suggestions!

There is an Olive Garden Restaurant right in Times Square. It is very reasonable. You will sit upstairs and can possibly get a table at one of the windows overlooking Times Square.

Do you know how difficult it is to get a table at the Olive Garden? I am also coming to NY with my husband for new year%26#39;s and we are not at all interested in ';reserving a spot'; for the ball countdown. We would like to do something unique to New York for New Year%26#39;s. From what we have read so far on the Internet, the things that sound more fun to us are the NYC dinner cruises (does anyone know anything about those), and just having dinner near Times Square (but, is that something that is really even a possibility?). Thanks!
