Using priceline for a 4 star in Manhattan
Thanks for the reply. I am worried I may have trouble because its somewhat last minute and I think this is a popular weekend in NYC.
Just don%26#39;t get your hopes up. A Priceline four-star is not what is generally accepted (Fodors, Frommers, Zagat) four star hotel. It will be nice, but not luxury. $250 is the minimum for a safe, decent hotel in NY.
on priceline: i got park south in murray hill for 250.00 a night, 3 star, included taxes and fees and breakfast. we had a big room: #419 but a small bathroom. others here have said their rooms were tiny. i didn%26#39;t bid on it...i just booked it. the room was better than just fine...we%26#39;ve paid much more for less (iroquois hotel). hope this helps!
Go to www.betterbidding.com and www.biddingfortravel.com and read, read, read. They have information about how to bid and re-bid. They also have a place where people post winning bids, so you will have an idea of what you might be expected to pay.
Good luck.
I recently won on priceline, I did it a few days before I was scheduled to be in New york. I tryed 10 times for a 4 star. I won the Hudson hotel 3 star for $168 and I was happy with it. I think i could of wom a 4 srar but i did not want to go higher then $170
sorry I meant won a 4 star.
Ive gone to 195 and have yet to be accepted. I am gonna check out those sites
Patience. I think you most likely have to go to $200 or more to win a 4 star. I think it depends on inventory.
Ive gone to 205 so far. Ill keep trying
