If you travel in a taxi the kids do not need a booster seat.

jock:
First, don%26#39;t take Super Shuttle. Run a search on this forum and you will see several horror stories concerning Super Shuttle.
Next, where will you be traveling while in NY? If you are just staying in NYC, dont bother with the booster seat. You just have to endure the trips to and from the airport with the child, buckle him/her up and you will be fine. If you are going to be renting a car to do any traveling around the NY metropolitan area, the car rental facility will have boosters to rent. Otherwise, in NYC you wont need it for cab rides etc.
