organised tour to the island of statue of liberty

We plan to visit New York in mid November. When I am doing the planning and reading the forum of tripadvisor, it seems the only way to go to the island of liberty is using the circle line ferry from battery park. However, I also discover there is a tour for the statue of liberty organised by New York City Trip. Has anybody had any experience with the organised tour to the island?

I don%26#39;t know anything about an organized tour, but I would not think you will need one. The National Park Service starts you off with a history of the statue and leads you into a well done museum. I can%26#39;t see what a tour company could add to it.

What organized tour? What is ';New York City Trip';?? A tour you%26#39;re traveling with? An outside co? Do you have a web link?

Thank you for the reply. The tour I am talking about is as follows:

What do you think?

As the tour uses the same ferry as an individual would use, I see no advantage at all in using this service. As has already been said, the rangers at Liberty Island will tell you everything you want to know - no need to pay more for very little extra.
