Museum of Natural History

Hi,

I have this museum planned for our trip in two weeks times, my boyfriend is really excited about going!

I was just wondering, I have set aside the whole morning of one of our days. Is this realistic as I know there is a lot to see.

How long do you think it would take to get round the museum, or it not possible to do it in one day?

Can you return on another day with your original ticket?

when i was there we went for half a day - but not get round half the museum! if you want to see everything you really need a full day as there are lots of floors and there are shows too - i never even got to one!! you could just go half a day though if you dont mind missing stuff - have a look on the website and you can decide what you want to see.

bear in mind though i was really surprised at how quickly you can get around new york so if this is your first time and have got a lot of time allocated for travelling you may have more time than you first thought as subway is really quick - and alot safer and cleaner than you may think!

Hi we were there last Thursday for about three hours and managed to see the space show which is fantastic - a must and the whole fourth floor with the dinosaurs etc and most of the space center. So we missed about 3 floors so I guess you would need about 6 hours at least.

You cannot return another day with your ticket. However, the admission price is suggested, though they go to great lengths to hide that fact from you.

You won%26#39;t be able to do it all in a morning, it%26#39;s a fabulous museum.

It also depends on whether or not you want to see any shows or special exhibits. (BTW, shows and special exhibits cost extra.). If you do want to go one or two of these, space it so that you can visit other parts of the museum between shows/special exhibits. To see what shows and exhibits are currently on offer--www.amnh.org. You can order tickets online, also. As others said, you could easily spend an entire day there!
