Hi there!
My family would be visiting NYC during the christmas week this year and we are thinking of whether to head up north to ithaca to visit the area and Cornell. Would you guys recommend going up to Ithaca during Christmas week? and what mode of transport is available from nyc to ithaca apart from driving up?
Thanks in advance!
Going to Ithaca + Visiting Cornell
Depends on what you like to do. What made you select Ithaca from NYC? It certainly is beautiful up there but I%26#39;m not sure what there is to do unless you%26#39;re into outdoor stuff (snowshoeing if there is snow or hiking). There is bus service from NYC but you do need a car to get around when you get there.

On the contrary, there is lots to do in Ithaca in the holiday season--great shopping, holiday music, theatre, festivals... try www.visitithaca.com for more.
Not sure what Cornell specifically does, but their campus is impressive any time of year, with an amazing view...
I also recommend a car, but the city itself is fairly small and public transportation is good.
There is a bus 7 times a day between NYC/Ithaca. Also Tompkins Airport. No trains though.
Have a great visit!
Ithaca is Gorges! (Yes....it%26#39;s a play on the word ';gorgeous'; because of all the AMAZING gorges and waterfalls around the city. Definitely a GREAT town to visit....any time!
