Future Broadway Shows for May Trip

As part of a trip package we ';won'; we have 4 tickets to Broadway Shows. I have secured Wicked tickets already but now am trying to decide on the other show. Young Frankenstein and Catered Affair sound appealing. Would it be wise to bet on the come of these new shows that I assume will be quite popular and hard to come by the tickets? Just wonder what the thoughts are by you true New York Broadway People. Thanks! P.S Are those ';in the know'; unhappy with Mel Brooks handling of his new show?

I%26#39;ll bite. I think Mel%26#39;s pricing of tickets for this show is ridiculous. 250-400 for most of the orchestra seats is not affordable for most people. I%26#39;m skipping Young Frankenstein for now. The balcony and dress circle have terrible views in that theater and I refuse to pay 80 dollars to not see the actors faces. *end rant*

Catered Affair has me really interested. Leslie Kritzer is a fav up and coming actress of mine and I want to see this project succeed. I%26#39;ve heard buzz that it%26#39;s a gentle beautiful musical ala Light in the Piazza from a season ago..a throwback to old style musicals even. With Harvey Fierstein and John Doyle at the helm...this definitely has created some buzz.

I agree about Mel Brooks, I can rant for hours about the gonif.

I%26#39;m interested in anything Harvey Fierstein is attached to, as writer or performer. I love the guy.

Here%26#39;s playbill.com%26#39;s page on upcoming theater:

BroadwayGirl - Thank You! Are there others that are touted to be great? I%26#39;m not interested in Little Mermaid, but the ones with Jennifer Garner or Claire Danes, perhaps? Unfortunately I am not as up to snuff as I wish I were with knowing the talents, such as Kristen Chenoweth or Audra McDonald. Any more suggestions?

Danes and her costars in Pygmalion are getting good word of mouth from people who have seen the show. However, it%26#39;s a limited run until about Christmas time. I%26#39;m sure it will extend a few weeks bc it%26#39;s been selling well, but I dont see it lasting til May bc I%26#39;m sure Danes has a previous committment.

Garner along with Kevin Kline in Cyrano...their names alone are going to create some excitement. Again, limited engagement closing around Christmas time. Prolly may extend a few weeks, but dont see it lasting beyond January bc of the stars previous engagments.

The limited run of South Pacific (April to June) is also generating some talk. It%26#39;s the first revival of the show and being done at Lincoln Center%26#39;s Beaumont theater which is a very nice venue. So far, stars Kelly O%26#39;Hara (tony nods for Piazza and Pajama Game).

Other musicals getting some talk are ';In the Heights'; a latino music infused Off Broadway transfer that opens in March and Xanadu. Xanadu has so far been the sleeper hit of the season getting huge huge praise. 90 mins of campy fun on rollerskates...loved it and have seen it twice.

Just saw ';The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee'; this past weekend and it is SO FUNNY! A must-see.
