Amtrak %26amp; British credit cards

Hello. I don%26#39;t know if this helps, but I recently booked an Amtrak railpass with a british credit card. I booked it from www.seat61.com and had no problems using my card.

Hope this helps and enjoy your trip!

I had the same problem trying to make a reservation on Amtrak from the UK. In the end I gave up. After arriving in New York I just went into Penn Station and paid cash for my ticket to travel the following day. The Amtrak train was much more comfortable than any British train I have been on.

hi,

i have just booked our tickets with amtrak via there web pagesand had no problems. they excepted our cc and we have a confirmed reservation via email.

We used a credit card to pay while in Boston but that was done at the ticket office. We also needed to show our passports to buy the tickets but not sure if theis is teh same throughout the US

All American Express, MasterCard and Visa CREDIT cards will work, even if it is a DEBIT MASTERCARD or a DEBIT VISA. However Maestro and Visa Elceton cards MAY not work.

Are you using one of the Cards Al-NYC recommends, I have booked from the UK before with a credit card, have you tried emailing them, for a large Company they replied surprising quickly when I asked a question.

This Company is advertising itself as the only UK seller of USA train tickets which a quick check on Google under %26#39;Amtrak tickets UK%26#39; isn%26#39;t quite correct, I%26#39;d persevere with Amtrak as it seems more expensive to book via the UK, don%26#39;t know where you were going but you could go NY to Washington for $67 and the UK agent wanted 拢50

You can also use www.seat61.com as mentioned but they were a similar price.

Isn%26#39;t it dearer also to not buy in advance? and how many are travelling as you can often get discounts for 2 people like 50% off the 2nd person.
