Popping the question in NYC

Help!

I%26#39;m heading to NYC in early December w/ my girlfriend and I want to pop the question there. I%26#39;m still in the planning stages. Any suggestions? I don%26#39;t really want the traditional dinner proposal. Something romantic but yet w/ some public around so we can share our happiness.

Please help! I%26#39;ve never been to NYC. We are staying at 102 Brownstone and will be in town on a Thursday staying through Sunday.

I believe a popular place is in central park maybe the ice rink ? and I think there is a spot by the south street seaport looking at the Brooklyn bridge is nice as well . Plenty of people around there. Horse and carriage ride? I guess weather can play a part to your decision.
