We will be making our first trip to New York in September of 2008. We will be staying on West 95th Street between Columbus and Amsterdam. Any information on how to get from the airport and great restaurants and things in the area would be wonderful. We need to know all the do%26#39;s and don%26#39;ts of NY. I would appreciate ANY information! Thank you!
New York Upper West Side
hello
Did you have a look at the sticky look here before you post? It has answers to all the questions you may have to start and then I am sure you will have some more, to ask of us.
New York Upper West Side
Are you looking for taxi info or public transit info?
As for dining, $ or $$$$.
You can walk down Broadway from 96th street to 72nd street and there are plenty of places to eat.
You can also walk down Columbus or Amsterdam Ave. The neighborhood offers an eclectic choice of restaurants.
Our friend NYC10025 is away, but here%26#39;s his excellent list of UWS restaurants, plus a link to a NY Times tour of the area:

I agree - check otu the FAQ ';sticky'; at the top of this forum for answers to airport questions and popular queries.
Also, if you%26#39;re looking for specific advice on getting to/from the airport, it would be useful to know WHICH airport you%26#39;re flying into, and what time of day!
