Saturday Night Live Tickets

I know SNL tickets are awarded during an August lottery of which I did not participate. Curious as to what other opportunities there are to obtain them for a price.

Craigslist has some infrequent postings for them and I haven%26#39;t check ebay (but will) but I was curious if anyone new of any markets that are made for them in the NYC area.

This would be a huge surprise for my wife if I can come up with some tickets for our upcoming trip. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you do not win tickets thru the August lotto, there%26#39;s very few ways to get in. The only way besides getting them from someone inside at NBC (aka cast, crew, etc) is standby.

Basically the only legal method of getting tickets available to you is by doing standby. People arrive Friday and camp out until 7am the next morning aka Saturday morning of show day when standby numbers are handed out. You show back up at the appointed time that evening (the time depends on whether you took a dress rehearsal or live show standby number) and they let up to the audience as many people in numerical order as there are open seats. Basically standbys fill in the ';no show'; spots for people who won seats by the lottery. You are not guaranteed to get in with a standby ticket...all the waiting could be for nothing. The closer you are to the front of the standby line/lower number the better. DO NOT let someone sell you a standby ticket with a number written on the back bc you are NOT guaranteed to get in. There%26#39;s someone on the net that keeps track of how many people get in. Last season is ranged from 0 to 100..depending on the show, weather, host, and musical guest.

Craigs list having tix is unusual. First bc the tickets aren%26#39;t allowed to be resold and second, anyone winning tickets by lottery usually do not have hard tickets in hand until they show up that night to get in. You simply have an email confirmation to which you have to show photo id with and they check their list, etc. Not sure how flexible they are with their policies, but I%26#39;ve heard of people getting turned away.

I just saw your other message about coming the weekend of the Breeders Cup (Oct 27th), if this is the case....SNL is dark and not taping that weekend. It%26#39;s an off week.

The fall dates for live shows in 2007 are the following:

Sept. 29

Oct. 6, 13

Nov. 3, 10, 17

Dec. 1, 8, 15
