19-23 dec...should i bother?
Places are open. We are the city that doesn%26#39;t sleep.

The first question is can you find lodging? That is a very popular time.
If so, yes the subway works 24-7-365 - hurricanes/blackouts and other strife notwithstanding.
Except for Dec 25, all stores are open all the time. Store hours are shorter on Sundays.
Everything is open during the dates you mentioned! It will be busy with people doing last minute shopping but this time of year is magical in NYC. You%26#39;ll find yourself walking around with a smile on your face.
The subway doesn%26#39;t stop. Ever. (unless there is of course some sort of mechanical problem).
Also, we don%26#39;t celebrate Boxing Day here, so everything is basically open on Dec 26, too.
This is actually a great time to visit imo. The hotel prices are not bad (vs. earlier in Dec.) and theater tickets are more available. The downside is the stores are mobbed with last minute shoppers.
