Hop Stop Users Come In....

I am trying to figure out what train to take from Times Square down to Chinatown (Canal and Centre St.)

But I am a bit confused by the directions. It tells me what train to take but then it lists a few streets that we will pass. Does this mean that we will pass these streets while on the train? Or does it mean that we will be walking these streets? I hope I am making sense.

It is telling me to take the Q train from Times Square and to get off at the Canal St/Broadway.

Just wondering if this sounds right. We are going to head over there this afternoon bf dark. Thanks!

Hopstop lists the names of the stations you will pass while riding the subway. Many stations have street number names, as I%26#39;m sure you have seen already.

As long as you get to the Canal Street station that services the

#6/N/R/Q/W/M/J

you%26#39;ll be in the right place. This is a single compex of multiple stations connected by tunnels.

The Canal Street stations that are serviced by the #1 or the A,C, E are too far west for your purposes.

Finally, I strongly recommend taking a deep breath and relaxzing, and try out asking locals on the street or subway workers for directions.

The Q will get you there the quickest, that%26#39;s why it%26#39;s telling you that, but the N, R or W would also be fine. Take whichever one comes in first

Yep. Never hesitate to ask people who seem to know where they%26#39;re going. If we look unpleasant or hostile while riding the subway, it%26#39;s probably just our default look to discourage panhandlers and crazies from talking to us. We%26#39;ll snap right out of it and try to help ya out if you just ask nicely. Sometimes even just looking all lost and confused at a map will prompt bystanders to offer their advice. You%26#39;ll do fine!
