Wellington hotel-nyc

Many thanks for any help,

It was my first choice but I changed my mind after reading reviews ... Seems ';overpriced'; to quality. Do you remember ';Borat';? this was the hotel he stayed when arrived to NYC ;)

The location is great you can%26#39;t knock it. I believe they were doing work to it while I was in the city this past friday. I think the hotel is fine. It is just not as modern as some other hotels.

The Wellington is a fine choice for the tourist. Well located, directly across the street from the Carnegie Deli - steps to the Manhattan Theater Group theaters.

It is an older property - well maintained - with quite adequate lodgings.

We spend so little time in our room, do not need a fancy decor- it certainly is our first choice when visiting the City, if it is available.

I would not hesitate to book there whenever I need a convenient location for NYC business.

Go for it!

Poppa

thanks for your replys,

i stayed at the new yorker last november which had the same type of reviews as the wellington and had no problems whatsoever,

can%26#39;t wait to visit nyc again as sister and her husband are with us this time for there first visit,

just booked a table for uncle jacks steakhouse on ninth avenue,do any of you know it?

I have been to their Queens location and It was good. I am not sure about manhattan, I am sure it will be fine, it gets good reviews on here as well from what I read.

i stayed in 2005. rooms were clean and kept that way. nothing special - but how much time are you planning to spend in the room?? service was fine not too friendly but not rude. great location just minutes from Times Square and there is a great Christmas shop next door ( if you go toward Carnegie Hall).

I would stay again as it was a great location and good value

I stayed at the wellington a year ago and thought it was absolutely fine for what I needed. I think the negative reviews stem from the fact that in new york you dont get as much for your money as other american states. Anyone who has stayed in washington or boston or chicago will tell you that for the same money you will get an infinitely better hotel in washington than new york. In manhattan you payh for the space, a premium for the location.

speaking of the wellington Travelocity has a special from Oct 29th to Oct 31 at $249 per night. I have not checked the wellington%26#39;s site against that price but it does not sound too bad.
